Wallace: Lions on wrong end of fine margins – we could have been breathing down Cardiff’s necks

Jed Wallace has spoken about Millwall being on the wrong end of a couple of big moments in the last two matches.

The Lions have taken two points from a possible nine and have dropped to 11th in the table.

Gary Rowett’s side need to make up a five point gap on Cardiff City – starting with tonight’s derby at Charlton.

“At Barnsley [a 0-0 draw] we played very well,” said Wallace. “It was just like at Derby, only we nicked a goal on that day.

“On Tuesday [a 1-1 draw against Swansea] we played really, really well.

“It is fine margins. Fergie [Shane Ferguson] hits the bar [at Barnsley] with his free-kick – [Rhian] Brewster does the same and it comes off Bart [Bialkowski] and bounces in. That’s the difference between four points. If we had them then we’d be right up Cardiff’s bum.

“It shows how tight this division is, it seems like in nearly every game there is only one goal in it.”
