Fresh injury doubts for Millwall as duo both struggling to be available for Hull City fixture

Mahlon Romeo and Murray Wallace could both miss Millwall’s match at Hull City on Saturday.

Right-back Romeo has been troubled by a groin problem but had managed to play on in recent matches.

Left-sided defender Wallace has a glute injury.

Striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (knee) will be unavailable while loanee Mason Bennett (hip) is rated doubtful.

“Mase has got a chance for the weekend but probably quite a small chance – just because of the quick turnaround,” said Millwall manager Gary Rowett. “If we went Saturday-Saturday he probably wouldn’t be far off.

“With Jon Dadi it is hard as well. Do you rush them back, in a desperate attempt for them to be fit and then risk losing them for a much longer period? It is a really tough balancing act at the moment.

“That’s why I think the whole new period is a challenge for most teams, just as much as it is for us.

“Jon Dadi is not going to be fit on Saturday.

“We’ve picked up two or three injuries and we’re certainly going to be stretched going into Saturday.

“Mahlon’s groin has been really sore, so he’s struggling, and Murray was also struggling during the game as well. Everyone wants to be out there but, in truth, we’ve had two or three players trying to play through things.

“I don’t necessarily think it is a bad thing to start giving players opportunities and time on the pitch.”
