“Immense” – Gary Rowett full of praise for this Millwall player

Bart Bialkowski racked up his 15th clean sheet of the season in Millwall’s 1-0 win at Hull City on Saturday – with manager Gary Rowett describing the goalkeeper as “immense”.

The 33-year-old suffered relegation from the Championship with Ipswich Town last season.

But Bialkowski has been back to his best for the Lions, who are still hoping to gatecrash the play-off positions.

“Bart’s been immense this season,” said Rowett. “He trains incredibly well and is really professional off the pitch.

“Ultimately in big games when we have needed him to make big saves he has made them.

“You see games up and down the country where keepers and defenders make mistakes – that just happens. Bart has been very, very consistent.

“I would say there have not been many keepers in the Championship who have performed better this season.

“He’s been a big part of our results and defensive solidity along with all of the team. Someone like Tom Bradshaw presses so diligently from the front – it makes a huge difference to a clean sheet. That’s how we look at it. You get a clean sheet and it’s everybody. We score a goal it’s not just the striker – it’s everybody who is part of the process.

“Bart’s been brilliant. I’ve been really pleased with him. He’s been pushed on by the likes of Steeley. When you see someone like Steeley training so well every day and being so professional without the games to motivate him, I think that is a big factor along with LT [Lee Turner], who works the keeper so well and so hard.”
