Crystal Palace make first summer signing with free transfer swoop for Nathan Ferguson
Crystal Palace have signed Nathan Ferguson on a three-year contract – making an impressive start to their summer transfer business.
The 19-year-old defender’s contract has expired at West Bromwich Albion, but the Championship promotion chasers will still be paid compensation for his services.
Ferguson looked set to complete a move to SE25 in the January window only for a medical to flag up a knee problem which needed surgery.
But it was common knowledge that the Eagles would still push through a deal for the England U20 international.

“It’s great to be here,” Ferguson told Palace’s official website.
“Crystal Palace is a great club and I feel like there’s a lot that I can bring to the team. I’m so happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started.”
Eagles chairman Steve Parish said: “Nathan is a fantastic signing for us, a player we’ve been committed to for a long time.
“He is hungry, focused, has a great attitude and he’s got an abundance of talent. It’s been a challenging six months for Nathan, and I’m genuinely so pleased for him that we have finally secured his services.”
