The former Everton and Southampton defender, 19, signed for the Addicks at the start of February on a deal until the end of the campaign.

Former Luton Town manager Jones has only been at the South London club for a little more than two months and has pulled Charlton away from relegation danger in a campaign which also saw two head coaches – Dean Holden and Michael Appleton – both dismissed.

There is optimism that Jones can mastermind a promotion push for the South Londoners, who are 16th in the standings.
