Go sky-high for book club, comedy and film nights in Peckham
Peckham’s original outdoor cinema in the sky has released its programme of films and events for June.
Whether you’re looking to enjoy the warmer months with a rooftop romance, a cult classic, or a scary summer screening, there’s something for everyone.
Kicking the series off on June 1, comedy fans can head to Peckham’s Bussey Building to laugh up a storm as Rooftop Film Club hosts a brand new live on stage Rooftop Comedy Club.
Headline act Jeff Innocent of Comedy Store fame will take to the stage, followed by award-winning stand up comedian and former doctor Michael Akadiri, and wickedly funny Sara Barron.
Back for its second year, Rooftop Book Club returns on June 19 for a sky-high Hunger Games themed evening, joined by the book lovers at London Girls Book Club.
The evening will start off with a chilled and chatty book club hosted by London Girls Book Club founder Caitlin Curry, followed by a screening of the film whilst overlooking Rooftop Film Club’s stunning city views at Roof East, Stratford.
Expect a chance to swap theories with fellow book lovers, and plenty of space to share your own take on the characters, themes, and big moments from the series.
Exclusive for Pride month, Rooftop Film Club will spotlight queer lives on screen with classics like Love Lies Bleeding, Call Me By Your Name, Jawbreaker, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! and Julie Newmar.
And it’s not just about the fun with 15 per cent of each ticket sold for Love Lies Bleeding and Set It Off to be donated to London Friend, the UK’s oldest LGBT charity, offering health and mental wellbeing support for the community in and around the capital.
Those looking to catch some chills in the summer heat can mark summer solstice weekend with a screening of Midsommar, or catch other summer horror classics like Friday The 13th and The Wood (11 June, Stratford).
There are also family classics like Ratatouille and Finding Nemo billed for the June screenings.
New for 2025, Rooftop Film Club offers an exclusive 10 per cent off discount for students using the voucher code: PeckhamStudent2025.
To validate eligibility for this discount, attendees need to present either an active Student ID card or their Student Schedule upon arrival at the venue.
Set against spectacular 360 degree city views, there’s no better place to catch a movie under the sunset whilst enjoying delicious food and drink delivered directly to your seat.
Tickets from £14 for adults and £8 for children can be found at rooftopfilmclub.com
