The Charlton Community Fun Day is back for its fourth year running this Sunday

The day includes live music, a funfair, children’s races, a dog show, food and crafts stalls, health workshops, yoga and Tai Chi and a fashion show from designer Aaliya Kimolo Fashions.

To start the day there will be a Tai Chi display followed by the Pearl Dragon story and dance show. But, with this year’s focus on children and young people, the day has a line-up of young bands, including Ona and Bruno (blues), Zarina (funk rock trio), Jet (singer/songwriter), Daju, Bhai, (traditional and contemporary Nepalese music), Friends and Therapists (indie reggae) and local hip-hop Star Dario Breaker and his band.

Project manager Louisa Le Marchand said: “Global Fusion Music & Arts teamed with Charlton House four years ago to run the Charlton Community Fun Day on the first Sunday of the school holidays, and since then it has grown and become an important focus for the local community and beyond.

“This year, because of some extra funding from Greenwich council, we have been able to take the festival to another level.

“It will be a wonderful way to start the summer holidays and a great finale to the GFMA summer festivals.”

The Charlton Community Fun Day will run from noon until 5pm in Charlton Park to the rear of Charlton House, and is a free community event.
