Speakers to demand justice for Windrush generation in Battersea Park tomorrow
Wandsworth Stand Up To Racism is hosting an event tomorrow to demand justice for the Windrush generation.
The global Black Lives Matter movement has encouraged many to challenge racism wherever they find it.
Many see the Windrush scandal – and the ‘Hostile Environment’ that produced it – as particularly stark example of racism in Britain.
Speakers include Battersea MP Marsha de Cordova, cultural historian Patrick Vernon, and leader of the Wandsworth Labour group Leonie Cooper.
This will be a socially distanced event. Please wear facemasks and follow stewards’ directions.
Meet at 11.30am near Go Ape, in the South West corner of Battersea Park.
