AFC Wimbledon holding open training session for fans to attend on July 26
AFC Wimbledon will be hosting an open training session on Thursday July 26 as supporters get the chance of a behind-the-scenes look at preparations for the 2018-19 season.
The invite- just nine days before Wimbledon’s League One campaign gets underway at Fleetwood Town – is open to fans of all ages, but the event is aimed at younger Dons supporters and their families.
It’s a chance to watch all of AFC Wimbledon’s new players in training with Terell Thomas, pictured above, becoming their seventh summer signing earlier this week.
AFC Wimbledon Foundation will be running fund challenges including a penalty shootout, five-a-side matches with the players, skill challenges, coaching session with foundation coaches, a chance to win hospitality prizes and club memorabilia along with photo opportunities.
Philip Rudling, AFC Wimbledon foundation director, said: “It’s a great opportunity for the club to do what it does best and interact with its family of supporters in the local community.
“Neal Ardley and Neil Cox are always very supportive of this type of activity and are looking forward to engaging with young fans in the relaxed environment of the training ground.”
The event will be staged from 11am until 3pm at the training ground (next to Woodies Social Club). The address is Thetford Road, New Malden KT3 5DX.
