AFC Wimbledon interested in former Millwall striker who is now a free agent
AFC Wimbledon are one of the clubs interested in former Millwall striker John Marquis.
The forward, 30, is a free agent after leaving Lincoln City. He signed for the Imps in January after his three-year stay at Portsmouth came to an end.
Marquis has scored 76 goals in 233 matches in League One.
The Lewisham-born centre-forward started on the Lions books and made his professional debut at the age of 18.
He was released by Millwall in the summer of 2016 and signed for Doncaster Rovers, where he netted 66 times in 153 games.
Wimbledon rejected fresh bids by Sunderland and Huddersfield for Jack Rudoni at the end of last week. The biggest offer was £500,000 – plus add-ons.
Bristol City and Blackpool are also keen on the 21-year-old, who wants to quit the Dons after their relegation to League Two.
