AFC Wimbledon v Charlton team line-ups: Nigel Adkins names unchanged side for first match in charge

Nigel Adkins has made no changes for his first match in charge of Charlton Athletic – keeping faith with the same starting 11 from Tuesday night’s 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers.

The former Southampton and Scunthorpe United manager, appointed by the Addicks as Lee Bowyer’s successor on Thursday, looks to make a winning start at an AFC Wimbledon side who are in drop danger.

Only Sunderland (34), Lincoln (34) and Hull (33) have taken more points on the road than Charlton.

And AFC Wimbledon’s home record is a poor one, taking just 12 points from 15 matches in a campaign which saw them groundshare with QPR before moving into their new Plough Lane stadium.

Ayoub Assal, 19, has been handed his first start by Dons head coach Mark Robinson.

Adkins took training on Thursday morning and has stuck with the side which caretaker Johnnie Jackson went with at The Valley.

Conor Washington is the attacker in a real rich vein of form with four goals in his last three matches. A goal today would make it his longest successive scoring streak after previously netting in three games in November-December 2015 and April 2015.

AFC Wimbledon: Tzanev, O’Neill, Woodyard, Nightingale, Alexander, Oksanen, Assal, Heneghan, Dobson, Longman, Pigott. Subs: Cox, Palmer, Chislett, Rudoni, Guinness-Walker, McLoughlin, Osew.

Charlton: Amos, Gunter, Famewo, Pearce, Maatsen, Forster-Caskey, Shinnie, Morgan, Millar, Stockley, Washington. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Oshilaja, Jaiyesimi, Aneke, Pratley, Watson, Schwartz.
