Bromley boss pleased as National League play-off hopes back on track

Bromley moved firmly back into National League play-off contention with a 2-0 home win over King’s Lynn Town on Tuesday.

The Ravens are three points behind seventh-placed Wrexham but have two matches in hand.

Neil Smith’s side bounced back from a 2-1 reverse at Weymouth last weekend.

“We were disappointed with the goals we let in,” said the Ravens boss, left. “Tuesday was about keeping that clean sheet and building from the back.

“It’s about that consistency now. We beat Aldershot but then didn’t maintain it. We’ve set our standards and have got to keep to them.”

January signing Courtney Duffus bagged both Bromley’s goals. The 25-year-old striker joined the Ravens for an undisclosed fee from Yeovil Town. Smith said: “He’s had to learn how we want him to play. He showed what he can do.”

Midfielder Tom Purrington impressed.

“It was time to let Tom off the leash,” said Smith. “He’s been there or thereabouts for a little while now.”
