Charlton Athletic boss provides injury update ahead of Bristol Rovers match
Jake Forster-Caskey is set to return for Charlton Athletic’s home game against Bristol Rovers tomorrow night.
The midfielder sat out Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury Town.
“Jake will be okay [for the Rovers match],” said Charlton manager Lee Bowyer. “He was just a little bit tight because he had played a lot of games in a short space of time.
“It was more about resting him. We could’ve played him but there would’ve been a big chance he would have then got injured. It was a case of do we lose him for one game or lose him for six?”
Bowyer expects Akin Famewo to be able to feature again. The on-loan Norwich centre-back, who only recently returned to the first-team after an ankle injury, did not feature in the midweek win over Northampton Town but was back in the starting line up at the weekend.
“I think he will be fine [to play again],” said Bowyer. “It is similar to with Jake. He can do a few, but then your body says slow down, because something is going to break. He had that break and his body has had time to recover. He should be alright now.”
