Charlton Athletic striker – a transfer target for Portsmouth in the summer – set to miss Fratton Park fixture

Charlton striker Jayden Stockley is set to miss Monday League One match at Portsmouth.

The Addicks’ top scorer has missed the last six matches with a hip problem. His last appearance was the 1-0 loss against Plymouth on December 12.

Pompey were also chasing Stockley in the summer but the 28-year-old had set his heart on a return to SE7 after an impressive loan from Preston North End.

Asked about Stockley’s chances of being involved at Fratton Park, Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson told the South London Press: “Jayden is unlikely to make that one.

“We have got a clean bill of health apart from Jayden and Jake [Forster-Caskey]. Sam Lavelle is back training with the group now.”
