Charlton Athletic v Cardiff City team line-ups: Bowyer only names six subs – with Taylor and Kayal both out
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has not named a full bench for today’s home game with Cardiff City – with the setback of Lyle Taylor also still not being fit.
The Addicks have a host of first-teamers unavailable for the early kick off with Brighton loanee Beram Kayal also absent despite featuring for Israel during the international break.
Bowyer only has six players on the bench and even then it includes unproven youngsters in the shape of Josh Davison and Alfie Doughty.
Darren Pratley serves a one-match suspension after collecting five bookings – with Conor Gallagher and Tom Lockyer only one yellow card away from a ban.
Bowyer makes two changes with Erhun Oztumer replacing the suspended Pratley and Deji Oshilaja coming in for Naby Sarr – at fault for both goals in the derby defeat at Millwall before the international break.
Jonny Williams, Jake Forster-Caskey, Chuks Aneke, Lewis Page, Ben Amos, Tomer Hemed, Sam Field and George Lapslie all ruled out due to injuries along with the aforementioned Taylor.
Charlton: Phillips, Matthews, Lockyer, Pearce, Purrington, Oshilaja, Cullen, Gallagher, Oztumer, Leko, Bonne. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Sarr, Solly, Morgan, Davidson, Doughty.
Cardiff City: Etheridge, Peltier, Bennett, Flint, Bacuna, Paterson, Pack, Nelson, Mendez-Laing, Madine, Hoilett. Subs: Smithies, Morrison, Vaulks, Murphy, Tomlin, Bogle, Coxe.
