Charlton Athletic winger Blackett-Taylor in talks with Derby County
Charlton Athletic winger Corey Blackett-Taylor is in talks with Derby County after they agreed a fee.
The South London Press understands that a deal in the region of £300,000 was accepted.
Blackett-Taylor is out of contract at the end of the season and did not play against Peterborough last weekend, at the end of the week when the Rams had a £250,000 bid knocked back by the South London club.
Derby manager Paul Warne has been an admirer of the former Tranmere and Aston Villa wideman since the summer, with Charlton also rejecting their attempts to sign the pacey wideman in the previous window.
The Addicks had made what they felt was a strong contract extension offer to Blackett-Taylor but it was made clear that he would not be putting pen to paper.
Charlton head coach Michael Appleton told our paper earlier this week that part of the reasoning behind switching to a wing-backs system against the Posh was taking a longer-term approach to the side’s set-up, with Tyreece Campbell also out of contract this summer.
Campbell, who has come through the club’s academy, has been offered new terms. Because he is under the age of 24 it means the Addicks would be liable for compensation, but that would be greatly reduced if he were to choose to move outside of England.
