Charlton boss confirms Josh Magennis set to sign for Bolton Wanderers

BY GREG STUBLEY

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has confirmed that striker Josh Magennis is set to join Championship outfit Bolton.

The Addicks rejected an offer from Peterborough last week, but as reported on Friday, Magennis is set for a move to the Trotters pending medical results.

Caretaker manager Bowyer said: “I don’t know if it’s all gone through yet, you probably know more than me.

“I know there has been an agreement, he went there yesterday for what looks like a medical and to agree terms.

“Josh was good for me and a great professional around the place – he was a leader and a big personality.

“He will be missed, but that’s football. I wish him all the best and hopefully he’ll be able to have a good season and career for Bolton.

“I can’t see him not signing for them and coming back, but I hope he says goodbye first.”

  • Good move. Couldn’t hit a cows backside with a Banjo.

  • Only a desperate, stupid or idiotic owner would allow his team to be so under strength at the beginning of EVERY season.

I have finally come to the conclusion that the row between CARD and RD is poisoning the club to the core.
