Crystal Palace defender: Everton defeat was a tough one to take
Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka felt his side’s late 2-0 defeat by Everton was undeserved after a good performance.
The young right-back has excelled since breaking into the first team and has become a permanent fixture of Roy Hodgson’s side.
But he believes the Eagles’ performance was worthy of taking something away with them from Goodison Park.
“We are devastated to concede so late in the game,” he told Palace TV. “We played well, particularly in the second half and had a lot of chances but just couldn’t take them.
“We are a hard-working team who keep fighting but need to finish our chances when they come along.
“The plan was to defend well and keep a clean sheet and then we knew that chances would come along as they did but we were not able to take them.
“Sometimes our performance is not reflected in our result and we need to keep working hard through the games and take our chances.”
Palace have a difficult run of fixtures which includes Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United, but the 20-year-old says after the late heartbreak at Everton, the team needs to respond in the coming weeks
