Derby 0 Millwall 1 – Tom Bradshaw scores as Lions make it seven Championship matches unbeaten

Tom Bradshaw’s eighth goal of the campaign saw Millwall extend their unbeaten run to seven Championship games.

The Lions had to put in a huge defensive shift in the second half as they came under heavy pressure from a Derby side who had lost only two of their last 22 home league matches.

Millwall are just two points behind the play-off places and this is the first time they have won successive league matches at Pride Park since November 1992.

The Lions went in front through a fine finish by Bradshaw, his first goal since late October.

Shaun Hutchinson looped a ball into the path of the striker and he nodded the ball down before dispatching a right-footed finish past Derby keeper Ben Hamer.

Mahlon Romeo was so close to getting a touch on Jed Wallace’s cross soon after and Millwall looked comfortable as they contained the hosts and looked to punish them on the counter.

You felt Derby had to improve after the restart and they mounted sustained spells of pressure – the Lions showing real defensive grit.

Martyn Waghorn put a great chance over the bar from Tom Lawrence’s pass just four minutes into the second half – the Rams striker also forcing a parried save from Bartosz Bialkowki with Alex Pearce hacking clear the loose ball.

Waghorn produced a first-time shot wide of the near post from Jayden Bogle’s cross and Bialkowski saved superbly in the 81st minute when the Derby right-back’s shot deflected off Jayson Molumby and almost crept inside the upright.
