Whyte-Povetkin was due to take place on November 21 at the SSE Arena in Wembley but the aim now is for the contest to go ahead early in 2021.
“Firstly we want to wish Alexander Povetkin a speedy recovery,” said Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn. “This is a challenging time for shows. There will be lots of ups and downs over the next few months. We look forward to the fight happening in late January.”
