Highly tipped boxer Caroline Dubois excited about pro debut

Greenwich Olympian Caroline Dubois will make her pro debut on November 20.

Following an outstanding amateur career, 20-year-old is, tipped to become a future world champion and face of women’s boxing.

Dubois, overseen by former Trainer of the Year Shane McGuigan, will fight on the Richard Riakporhe at the SSE Wembley Arena.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to my pro debut next month at Wembley Arena. Daniel has told me to just relax and enjoy it all on fight night.

“He told me not to put too much pressure on myself because I am good enough as he’s been impressed when he’s watched me in sparring.

“Women’s boxing is in a great place at the moment and it will keep getting better and better, more girls will be coming through and it’s great for the sport.

“Each generation the quality will just keep getting better, but right now it’s a brilliant time for a female boxer to come through professionally.”

Catford’s Ellie Scotney (2-0) battles it out against Eva Cantos (2-1) at the O2 Arena tomorrow, part of the card for the unification fight between unbeaten Chantelle Cameron (14-0, 8KOs) and USA’s Mary McGee (27-3, 15KOs).
