Dulwich Hamlet defender was “brave” to play in Monday’s win at Slough Town

Gavin Rose is hoping to have defensive reinforcements back for Dulwich Hamlet’s National League South home game against Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday.
The South Londoners won 2-1 at Slough Town on Monday with Dipo Akinyemi and Nyren Clunis on target.
“We’re hoping for Michael Chambers and Nathan Green (pictured below) to train on Thursday,” said Rose. “If they do then they could be in consideration for Saturday.
“Nathan came on in Monday’s game and really shouldn’t even have been on the bench. He was quite brave and came on to get us through the closing minutes even though he hasn’t been passed fit yet.

“Magnus Okuonghae has been injured for the last two games with a groin problem. It is touch and go whether he is available for Saturday.”
Dulwich are 19th in the table – four points above East Thurrock United, who occupy the first relegation spot.
“It’s difficult because as long as we stay in the league then most people will say it is a good season,” said Rose. “But if there are games I think we should win then I’m never going to be happy when we don’t, no matter what people see as success this season.
“The win on Monday was a really, really good result against a good team.”
