Fulham hindered by lack of attacking options at Manchester City…will it be same for Cottage clash with Manchester United?

Fulham manager Marco Silva will be hoping to have greater attacking options available for Sunday’s home game against Manchester United.

The Whites were missing Aleksandar Mitrovic for last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester City.

The Serbian striker is still troubled by an ankle problem he suffered while away on international duty.

Mitrovic is due to leave the line for his country at the World Cup, which starts in Qatar on November 20.

Fulham were unable to hold on to a point at City despite Joao Cancelo’s 26th-minute red card which resulted in Andreas Pereira scoring from the spot to cancel out Julian Alvarez’s opener.

Goal machine Erling Haaland converted a penalty in the fifth minute of injury time.

“To make some changes within the game was tough,” said Silva. “We just had one attacking solution on the bench.

“When you play at the Etihad it is tough if you don’t have the players to refresh, to put fresh legs in your attacking line to keep pressing them and to keep creating moments.

“We had to adapt [Daniel] James as a striker and we had a right-back as a right-winger – we had to adapt a 17-year-old midfielder as a left-winger.

“I believe with different selections on the bench the game could be completely different in the second half.”
