Growing band of Premier League clubs tracking Millwall prize jewel Romain Esse

A growing number of clubs are keeping tabs on Millwall’s attacking prospect Romain Esse.

The 19-year-old South Londoner has been the subject of interest from Crystal Palace, with their director of football Dougie Freedman in attendance at some matches this season.

But the Eagles are not the sole Premier League admirers of Esse with Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Newcastle and Bournemouth also monitoring his situation.

Millwall secured Esse on a new long-term contract earlier this season but there was a release fee inserted in those improved terms.

It means the Lions would be powerless to prevent the academy product from leaving if any club hits the figure, which is in eight figures.

Esse has scored four goals and claimed one assist in 22 matches this season.
