“He had his spark back” – Millwall assistant boss pleased with key man’s performance at Cardiff

Millwall assistant manager Adam Barrett felt Jed Wallace had his attacking “spark” back in today’s 1-1 draw at Cardiff City.

The attacker had a major hand in the Lions’ early goal in South Wales, with his low cross turned in by Aden Flint.

And Wallace produced a couple of sublime turns in the second period – one seeing Sean Morrison booked – as well as helping the visitors press effectively.

Kenneth Zohore failed to finish an excellent low cross put in from the right flank by the former Portsmouth and Wolves man, so often Millwall’s most successful outlet.

Barrett said: “He [Wallace] worked extremely hard today. He looked like he had a little bit of a spark back – which was great.

“He looked a real danger on the turnover, when he could get down the sides against them.

“That’s really pleasing for the second half of the season, if Jed can be firing on all cylinders then we know what a really good player he is for us.”
