Mason Bennett looking to play so well that Millwall have to sign him in summer

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Mason Bennett says he wants to play so well for Millwall that they have no option but to make his stay permanent in the summer.

The Derby County striker has arrived on loan from Derby County, wrapping up his switch on Thursday morning.

The Lions have an option to turn the transfer into a permanent one at the end of the campaign.

“First and foremost I’m here at Millwall for four or five months and I’ll give my all to the club,” Bennett told the club’s official website. “Who knows? In the summer I might even stay.

“I want to play that well that I don’t give Millwall any choice that they want me to come. I want to help get the team up the league and into the play-offs.

“I had a chat with the gaffer [Gary Rowett] in November. I had an unfortunate injury before Christmas. The gaffer was keen to get me in and I’ve been waiting. I’ve been working hard to get as fit as I can before I came.”
