Millwall activate contract extension options on striker Lee Gregory and attacker Aiden O’Brien

By Richard Cawley

Millwall have activated a clause in Aiden O’Brien’s contract to extend his stay at The Den until the summer of 2019.

The Lions attacker saw his form in the Championship this season lead to a call-up to the full Republic of Ireland squad.

O’Brien’s terms were due to run out at the end of June but Millwall were always relaxed about the situation, as they had an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

And that was triggered comfortably before the season ended.

Such clauses are commonplace in deals and Millwall also had a similar extension option on striker Lee Gregory which has also been taken up.

Talks are ongoing with the Sheffield-born striker to see if a longer-term arrangement can be sorted.

Millwall have confirmed that new deals have been offered to Byron Webster, Sid Nelson and Harry Donovan.

The Lions have also taken up 12-month options on Ryan Sandford, Danny McNamara and Lewis White.
