Millwall boss focused on adding attacking options before transfer window shuts

Gary Rowett is only focused on helping his attacking players out with more options in the transfer market after conceding that his Millwall squad is very thin compared to other clubs seeking a Championship play-off spot.
The Lions boss was keen to praise those that were in his team after Saturday’s 1-0 win at Cardiff City that kept them in touch with the top six.
“In terms of energy, in terms of effort, in terms of aggression, in terms of spirit, desire, there’s not going to be another team in the division that can do the things we  would do,” said Rowett.  “Where we need to improve is on the ball and make games easier for ourselves.
“Today we only really had young Romain Esse and I left Vogi on the bench to give us something late on – because we had two attacking options.
“When you look at some of the other teams in and around us, they’ve got four, five or six attacking options. That’s going to be the difference.”
Millwall are eighth in the Championship table and are two points off third with a game in hand.
But Rowett is not paying loads of attention to the league standings.
“I think it’s really, really important that we help some of those players out up there,” he said. “The group deserve it because they’ve worked so hard to get into that position.”
