Neil Harris says Millwall cannot afford a drop in standards as they face table-topping Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The Lions are unbeaten in all competitions this season and followed up an impressive point at West Bromwich Albion last Saturday by beating the same opposition at The Hawthorns on Tuesday in the League Cup.
Millwall have lost 11 of their last 47 matches at The Den and opened the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Preston North End.
“I expect there to be real excitement about this game,” said Harris. “I’ve got to praise the players and supporters for the start to our season. But we have to remind ourselves it is very early days.
“We have to keep our feet on the ground. This is a harsh level and we have to go into each game completely focused on being the best we can be.
“In the first three matches we have been very hard to break down, very resolute in our defensive shape and quite clinical at the other end. That has to be the standards and blueprint for the whole season.
“If we fall short of those standards the Championship will come back to bite us.
“Sheffield Wednesday are a good team who have started really well. They are a huge club with massive resources who probably expect to be a top side in this division.”
