Millwall boss Neil Harris provides a positive transfer update – and gives his thoughts on Jayson Molumby

Neil Harris has expressed his delight at getting a deal done to bring Republic of Ireland Under-21 captain Jayson Molumby to Millwall – despite him being relatively unknown to many.
The 19-year-old completed his season-long loan move from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this week, but will not be involved against Real Sociedad on Saturday and is unlikely to feature against Preston North End in the Lions’ Championship opener the following week.
Molumby is lacking match fitness having not played competitively since Ireland lost to Brazil in the semi-finals of the Toulon Tournament on 12 June.
He said: “We’re really pleased to get Jayson in. A lot of people might not have known about him or heard about him, but they’d have spoken to their mates at Brighton who would have raving over him and seen the Toulon [Tournament] stuff over the summer and gone, wow, what a player he’s going to be.”
“So really pleased with Jayson coming in. He’s a long way off match fitness so he’s not going to be included at the weekend.
“With regards the next one coming in, well I’ll see Steve Kavanagh [Wednesday] to find out if we’ve progressed it forward. But it is progressing and I do expect the player in. Will it be before Saturday? I hope so, there’s real potential for that.”
