Millwall boss not desperate for more signings after double Derby raid
Millwall manager Gary Rowett says he is not “desperately” looking to do any more deals after the arrival of Derby duo Scott Malone and Mason Bennett.
The Lions announced this morning that left-back Malone, 28, had returned to his former club on loan.
And attacker Bennett, 24, has joined on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.
Millwall are still keen on bringing back Jayson Molumby, if Brighton allow the Irish midfielder to go out on loan.
Speaking after the moves for Malone and Bennett were announced, Rowett told the South London Press: “I don’t think we’re desperately looking to do much.
“We’ve spoken about bringing in a back-up goalkeeper to the group, just because of Frank Fielding’s injuries.
“If one or two interesting options come up then of course we’d look at that.”
Millwall have signed four players in the current window. Troy Parrott and Ryan Woods have arrived on loan from Tottenham and Stoke respectively.
“I’m delighted with the window we’ve had so far and hugely thankful to Steve [Kavanagh, chief executive] and probably more importantly John [Berylson, owner] for sanctioning the deal.
“What we’ve got is a real competitive squad with lots of good options, which is all you ask as a manager. Now we’ve got to try and make the most of it.”
