Millwall midfielder Lenny: We’ll be at it for Crawley Town tie
Ryan Leonard wants an EFL Cup win at Crawley Town on Saturday – because it will be the perfect build up to their Championship curtain-raiser next weekend.
This weekend’s competition is not high on the Lions’ priority list as they look to once again be in the play-off hunt. But Leonard said: “It’s a competitive game and we know we need to hit the ground running – if we get a good result we can take that into the Stoke match.
“It’s strange, we’re not used to starting the season with a cup game – and on a Saturday as well. But we’re going to turn up and be at it. I’m sure they will be at it as well.
“The pre-season has been quite enjoyable. It’s been shorter and not as many friendlies, which the lads probably prefer.
“We just said in there [the dressing room] that we’re ready for the season.”
