Non-league round-up: Dulwich can ease relegation fears at Bath as Bromley boss backs his players

Dulwich Hamlet will look to ease their National League South drop fears at Bath City tomorrow.

Gavin Rose’s side have won four league games on the road this season but face a major test against the hosts, who are third in the standings.

Dulwich failed to put more distance between themselves and the drop zone when they lost 1-0 at home to Welling United last weekend.

Romney Crichlow-Noble scored the decider in the eighth minute but was later taken to hospital with facial damage.

Neil Smith had praise for his Bromley players despite seeing them lose 1-0 at Stockport County last weekend.

The result drops the Ravens out of the play-off positions. They are at home to Wrexham tomorrow.

“It’s another game where their goalkeeper gets man of the match,” said Smith. “That sums it up – we were outstanding.

“I can’t bemoan my players for creating chances. They hit the target and the keeper has kept them out. Effort-wise and energy-wise, some of the football we played in the conditions, was outstanding.

“All my subs came on and put down a marker that they want to play.

“There are loads of positives. The negatives are the result and the goal.

“I’m just frustrated and getting the hump that goalkeepers keep getting those man of the matches against us. The players are not giving up, by any stretch of the imagination – but when you keep getting hit in the stomach like that it does start to affect you.

“Luke Coulson absolutely ran the show. He was the best player on the pitch by a million miles – it would have been fitting if he’d put the last chance of the game in. In possession and out of possession he was Football League standard.

“We need the supporters to get behind us and keep the belief. We still believe. We need that next win, hopefully Wrexham will be the game where we can start it again. We’ve got everybody fit – no excuses.”

Tooting & Mitcham, who lost 2-1 at leader Ware last Saturday, go to Barking tomorrow. The Terrors are four points adrift of a play-off berth in the Isthmian League South Central Division but have three matches in hand on fifth-placed Waltham Abbey.
