Ted Cheeseman is the new British super-welterweight champion after a unanimous points win over Asinia Byfield at the Copper Box Arena.
The unbeaten Bermondsey puncher picked up the vacant domestic strap as he produced relentless pressure to get the nod on all three judges’ scorecards – 117-11 (twice) and 117-110.

Cheeseman scored a fifth round knockdown but Byfield, despite being slowed by a consistent stream of body shots by the South Londoner, dug in to last the distance.
And the 12th round saw both men go toe to toe but the sharper and cleaner work came from Cheeseman, whose neat defence saw him take a lot of punches on his arms and gloves.
