“The lads feel like they’ve run over 25 black cats” – Wednesday boss can’t believe they didn’t beat Millwall
Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk was left scratching his head how they did not break down Millwall.
The two sides drew 0-0 at Hillsborough yesterday.
The Lions had 11 shots – but none of them on target – and were indebted to Bart Bialkowski as he made a number of saves to keep them level.
The result leaves Millwall ninth in the table, just four points behind Championship leaders Reading.
Wednesday climbed off the foot of the standings but Monk wanted more.
“I’ve just said it in the changing room – there’s a bit of disbelief how we haven’t won the game.
“We set out what we wanted to do – we kept a clean sheet, we dominated the game with the ball and we created the chances.

“It’s just one of those things at the moment for us that it’s not coming off. We’ll keep working at it and it will drop for the guys in front of goal.
“That was all that was needed to win the game, that last little bit – a bit more ruthless finishing and some less good goalkeeping.
“We didn’t suffer anything on our goal, apart from the slip. I don’t think Joe had a save to make.
“The lads feel a bit like they’ve ran over 25 black cats – how we haven’t scored at least one or two goals today.”
