Tyler Burey handed new Millwall position in 2-0 win at Dartford
Millwall manager Gary Rowett admitted Tyler Burey’s goal was the standout moment in last night’s 2-0 friendly win over Dartford.
The attacker curled home from the edge of the box to seal victory at Princes Park.
“He’s a talented lad, we know that,” said Rowett. “He had a new role as a number 10 that we thought might give him a bit more freedom. He capped off a brilliant move and a wonderful finish.
“It was the highlight of the evening. It would be nice to have a little bit more quality like that at times from the team.
“It was a lovely finish, a bit of bend and swerve. He does it all the time in training. I thought the moment had gone and that he had gone a little too deep and was facing the wrong way. But he opened his body up.
“He is probably the one in our formation that it is a little bit hard for him because he wants to be wide and have that space to run at people. Playing as a 10 was a new challenge for him. He did well at times and at times he needs to release the ball a little bit quicker.”
