Millwall Lionesses are close to going a full calendar year unbeaten

By Sam Smith

Millwall Lionesses are close to going a full calendar year unbeaten in the FA Women’s Super League Two – and coach Lee Burch admits it is an extra motivational tool.

The South London club’s last defeat came on February 27. The only points they have dropped are against fellow high-fliers Doncaster Belles.

Lionesses host Durham Women on Sunday (midday kick-off).

Burch said: “We have just kept winning games and then you look back and realise when you last lost, it has crept up on us.

“Having a little bit of a target is nice, especially when we are so close and with tough games coming up.”

Charlton Athletic Women travel to Swindon Town Ladies in the Women’s Premier League Southern Division on Sunday (2pm). They beat the Robins 11-0 earlier this season.

The Addicks reached the Isthmian Cup semi-final thanks to an emphatic 5-0 success against Enfield Town just over a week ago. A hat-trick from Kit Graham and goals from Kim Dixson and Emma Sherwood sealed the win.

Crystal Palace Ladies got to C&K Basildon Ladies hoping to extend their six-match winning run.

AFC Wimbledon Ladies host Enfield in South East Division One (2pm). The Dons lead Leyton Orient by five points at the top of the table with a game in hand.
