‘No chance!’ – Millwall striker Benik Afobe responds passionately
Millwall are still firmly in the Championship play-off race according to Benik Afobe.
The Lions, nine points behind sixth-placed Middlesbrough, head to Blackpool today.
Some fans have suggested their top-six hopes are over but Afobe responded: “No chance. We’ve got 20 games left, it’s up for grabs. Every team from fourth to 12th are doing their best not to make the play-offs!
“We’re playing well and not getting what we deserve. But it’s a tricky one -if you’re not playing well and getting three points then you’re happy, but eventually that catches up with you. We’re still one of the top Championship teams.
“I know it’s not how football works but Forest battered Arsenal last week but especially before we lost Sheyi [Ojo] and Bradders [Tom Bradshaw] we were on top of them – arguably the best 25 minutes we’ve had all season.
“Football is cruel and life is cruel. We didn’t take our chances and they [Forest] went up the other end and scored.”
