Jimi Manuwa suffered a shock loss on the UFC show at Greenwich’s 02 Arena on Saturday night – dropping a unanimous points verdict to Jan Blachowicz.
The Croydon light-heavyweight had already earned a points victory over the Pole and all the talk ahead of their rematch was whether he could inflict a stoppage defeat the second time around.
But Manuwa was floored in the first round – his nose badly damaged in the process – and he continued to eat jabs from Blachowicz through the contest.
The South Londoner had a head punch accuracy of just 27 per cent and was outscored 88-45 on strikes landed.
Blachowicz did not dismiss a third meeting with Manuwa. He said: “Of course. I can do this, no problem for me.
“My boxing was better than Jimi’s boxing.
“I never chose an opponent [to fight]. I’m ready for anyone. Now I want a little break.”
